Robert Breedlove

Robert (Hard Hat Bob) Breedlove has accepted a new position, that of “Head Greeter” in heaven, necessitating his change of address. Bob passed away peacefully Friday, July 22, 2011, at noon in Everett Providence Hospital, after a short bout of cancer. He had several days in the hospital to give out his testimony and urge all his friends and family to prepare to meet his beloved Savior and to prepare for when their end time comes. His much beloved wife, Lee, and an extensive family are rejoicing at his promotion while missing his presence.

Bob was born in Arizona on Feb. 6, 1930, and moved to Whidbey Island in 1943. He married Nancy Joan Grannis and in the 55 years of marriage to her, raised six children, who are all following God. Bob worked for Frei Mill for 20-plus years, was a deputy sheriff and deputy marshal of Langley, topped trees on the weekends and worked 28 years for Seattle Pacific University at Camp Casey. Bob rode the Island Transit bus for 15 years ministering to many fellow riders. Island Transit held a big farewell party when Bob finally retired. Bob enjoyed hunting, raising dogs, diving and collecting guns.

Widower Bob met widow Lee Potts when he was a greeter at Christian Life Center. When they married in October 2007, Lee and her children were joyously added to the extended Breedlove family and were a blessing to all who knew them.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lee; six children, Marilyn Linscheid (Richard), Elaine Linn (Gary), David Breedlove (Joy), Debra Peterson (Llance), Dan Breedlove (Melanie) and Toria Renard (Aaron); and Lee’s three children, Diana Foster, Ken Foster Julia Casey (Michael).

There are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren inheriting the Christian principles so important to Bob and Lee. Bob is also survived by one brother, Ben Breedlove of Langley.

Bob’s last request, that the world would know: “God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but the world through him might be saved.” John 3:17.
