Richard L. Evans II

Richard L. Evans II went to be with the Lord late Monday, May 30, 2011. He passed away at his home in Oak Harbor.

Richard had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people smile. He loved the outdoors and at any opportunity that could be found fishing, hiking, camping or walking on the beach. Richard would often go on aimless travels to amazing places coming back with wonderful stories to share with family and friends.

His interests included wood carving, drawing, and of course Pikachu, but above all, he was passionate about his family.

Richard was also an amazing automotive technician. He brought with him creativity and mischief wherever he went; seeing the lighter side of things when others couldn’t. As a shirt of his said: “I may be an adult but I refuse to grow up,” and he went about life proving it true.

Richard is survived by his children, Jennifer (Brian), Kathleen, Angela and Richard; his mother Patricia; his siblings Jack (Pam), Steven (Lisa), Pamela and Lisa; and his grandson Alex. He is preceded by his wife Laura and his father Richard.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 25, at 1 p.m. at Grace Community Church (formerly New Covenant Fellowship). Family and friends wishing may share memories and offer condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com. Arrangements are with the assistance of Whidbey Memorial Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc, Oak Harbor.
