Richard James Rodgers

It is with great sadness to report that Brother Richard Rodgers was called by the Supreme Grand Master on Nov. 22, 2010. Richard was born Dec. 14, 1977, in Oak Harbor to Pete and Dixie Rodgers. He attended Oak Harbor High School and later Western Business College. After school, he promptly began his career in Information Technology, culminating in his position as a Deployment Engineer at Microsoft. On April 19, 2008, he was wed to the love of his life, Gretchen Engel, in Seattle.

Richard was a loving husband and son, and a great friend to anyone who had the privilege of making his acquaintance. He loved to travel the world, for both business and pleasure, making friends around the globe. He was constantly driving himself and those around him to succeed in their personal lives and careers and was truly an inspiration to all who knew him.

He petitioned to Daylight Lodge No. 232 on March 17, 2007, and was Raised as a Master Mason on Feb. 2, 2008. At the time of his passing, he served as Junior Warden of University Lodge No. 141. Brother Rodgers received his Royal Arch Degree in Oriental (Daylight) Chapter No. 19 on March 6, 2010.

The Masonic memorial funeral service was conducted Dec. 4 by Worshipful Brother Anthony Monaco of University Lodge No. 141 and Worshipful Brother Franklin Donahoe of Daylight Lodge No. 232.

“Forever Young.”
