Paul Frederick Swanson died May 19, 2009, at the age of 81. He was born July 7, 1927, in Yakima, to Julian and Matilda (Skidmore) Swanson.

Paul was raised in Milton-Freewater, Ore. He worked for J.C. Penney Company until enlisting in the Navy during World War II. After the war her returned to J.C. Penney Company.

He and Betty were married 58 years. Paul retired in Santa Rosa, Calif., and made their home in Oak Harbor, wintering in Lake Havasau, Ariz.

Paul is survived by his wife Betty, sister Loyce Owsley, three nieces and four nephews.

Paul requested no formal funeral services be conducted. Cremation was followed by private inurnment. Arrangements are entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
