‘Ole’ Everett Wayne Oylear

Gone fishing, see you soon!

“Ole” Everett Wayne Oylear passed away on Jan. 1, 2011, leaving behind his beloved wife Lynda, sister Betty, sons David, Doug and Dwight, daughter Cathy, nephew Kenneth and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as extended family and many best friends who will all miss him dearly.

Ole you loved life! Born March 2, 1928, and raised in rural Eastern Washington, his love of the outdoors was birthed. From snow covered mountains filled with lakes and streams to the salt waters of Puget Sound and the Pacific Ocean, Ole’s exuberance for hunting and fishing was ever present throughout his life. His great enduring patience to teach others the secrets of these sports rewarded him with great joy watching others catch game and his passion for the outdoors in his presence. It was as if he caught them himself.

Ole, you’re awesome! His many nostalgic stories of his youth and adulthood filled with serious life issues to humorous escapades were often the basis of his wisdom which he shared with so many. Ole was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force which he served for a short stint of 24 years during which time he traveled overseas and stateside with his family. His love for the Air Force and its history continued till his passing. When serving his country ended with retirement, Ole began serving people, always showing a passion for people by listening, providing, mentoring and lastly words of wisdom. Ole impacted lives that would forever be changed for the better. If you were fortunate to know him you would surely understand.

Thank you Ole for serving not only our country but us as well! An artisan in remodeling and woodcraft were some of Ole’s talents and trades after the military service. Always creating and designing as well giving away of his time talents and creations. While others were asleep counting sheep at night he would lie awake and receive inspiration for his next project. Just a few of his many other loves of life included story telling, military history, green thumb gardening, cooking for others, latest electronic gadgets and power tools, road trips, and most important of all, a very, very warm, long bath each morning!

Although Ole may not have expressed or shared his faith as openly as others might, many of his words and actions on this earth emulated our lord Jesus Christ with caring, giving, serving, humility and endless love. Just look at the scriptures and you will see! May God bless you Ole with his eternal presence! As they say, fish on!

Good-bye is a word the heart doesn’t know! “Blessed are they that mourn: For they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4).
