Naomi Katherine Machen, 82, of Frisco, Texas, died April 12, 2009, in Frisco.

Naomi was born Oct. 17, 1926, in Epps, La., to Oliver Clifton and Della Mae (Griffith) Bass. She married Johnny Charles Machen on Nov. 27, 1946, in Chandler, Ariz. Naomi was a member of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed her husband, sons, grandchildren and her church immensely.

She is survived by her sons, Tom Machen of Memphis, Tenn., and Chris Machen of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, John Machen of Memphis, Jennifer Bush and husband Stephen of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Ryan Machen of Plano, Texas; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Joy Bush of Chapel Hill; sisters, Ofa Hopkins of Apex, N.C., and Elaine Barnette and husband Howard of Austin, Texas; and several loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny, four brothers and three sisters.
