Mildred E. Luna, 80, of Oak Harbor, died May 26, 2008, at her daughter’s home following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Luna was born on July 26, 1927, in Byars, Okla., to Bernard Collins and Pearl (McCullough) Collins. She was married to Max H. Luna on March 11, 1946, in Phoenix. They lived in the San Diego area for some time, and then moved to Oak Harbor in 1989.

Mildred is survived by her three daughters, Rene Luna of Oak Harbor, Diana Hollingsworth and husband Dennis of Salem, Ore., and Patricia Luna of San Diego; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Max Luna on Jan. 17, 1994; also by a brother Ray Collins.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be Saturday, May 31, at 3 p.m. at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Arrangements are with the assistance of Whidbey Memorial Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc., Oak Harbor.
