Aug. 20, 1935 — Nov. 11, 2013
Margie (Marjorie) Naval passed away Nov. 11, 2013. She was born Aug. 20, 1935 in Oakland, Calif. She and her family moved to Coupeville in 1946.
She attended Coupeville High School and graduated Class of 1953. She married Frank Naval that same year. Frank was in the Navy and as newlyweds transferred to California. They lived for short times in Oakland and also Los Altos, Calif.
Upon returning to Seattle and later settling in the town of Des Moines, Margie worked part time as a tax adviser and also as a bookkeeper.
Margie’s passion was her family. She loved their company, their presence and their conversation. She enjoyed every dinner with her young family during their formative years and especially the matured families at a dinner table during the holidays or special family occasions. She simply listened, participated in conversation, absorbed the family laughter, enjoyed their companionship and feeling their love for each other.
Her family is her creation and also her shining accomplishment.
Nature, sports and the outdoors were her elements. She loved walking with her friends for the exercise. She participated in tai-chi. She loved working in her garden, beach combing, the sea, the wildlife and all children. She hunted and she fished. She was an avid fan of Husky football and the Seattle Mariners.
Margie is survived by her brother Corbett Porter, husband Frank, five children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held Nov. 26, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church in Des Moines, Wash. www.gotgrace.com
