Louella Morrow

Louella Ann Morrow passed away on August 23, 2009, at Providence Hospital in Everett, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on Sept. 25, 1928, in Anacortes to Lester and Daisy Mae Wells.

Louella was raised in Anacortes with the help of many family and friends as they, like many, dealt with the effects of the depression and World War II. During the summer of 1945 at the age of 16, she met a young 18-year-old sailor named Bill Morrow, and for the next 64 years they spent their lives loving one another, raising kids and experiencing the joys and heartaches of a long full life together.

“Momma,” as her boys called her, was at her best when in her favorite place, her home. She worked on the Maylor Dock in Oak Harbor when she and Bill were first married, but spent most of her married life at home taking care of her boys. Her home was always warm and comfortable, she was a great cook, she loved working in her flowers and gardening, she could get the giggles, fix cuts and scrapes, hug and kiss the hurt away, and yet deal with everything that came along every day. She loved Bill and through 64 years they shared responsibility and supported one another. She was a beautiful woman who was kind and gentle and caring and during her life touched many and is loved by more.

Louella is survived and loved by her husband, Bill Morrow, Sr., at their home in Oak Harbor; her boys, Bill Jr., and wife Maggie, Ed and Jim Morrow of Oak Harbor; special niece Sharon Creech and husband Bobby; special friends Wendy Morrow and Martha Sylvester; grandsons Justin, Travis, Jared and Jason; granddaughters Korja and Charlene; and many other friends and family.

People leave, the loved never go away.
