Johanna W. Mulder

Johanna W. Mulder, 89, passed away Jan. 28, 2011, at Joshua House in Sedro-Woolley. She was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Harlem, Holland, The Netherlands to Johannes and Anna Maria (Van El) Teljeur.

Johanna was married to Jan Mulder on May 10, 1950 in the Netherlands and they immigrated to California later settling in Sedro-Woolley in 1955. She and Jan owned and operated a dairy farm on the Hoehn Road east of Sedro-Woolley for many years.

Johanna enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and she was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Mount Vernon and the Christian Women’s Club. For the past five years she resided at Heather Village in Mount Vernon and was active in their activities as well as enjoying Hesslegrave Bus Tours. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jan in 1973, and her brother John Teljeur.

Johanna is survived by her daughter, Anna Marie Eelkema and her husband Jim of Oak Harbor; her two sons, Jan Mulder Jr. and his wife Cheri and Bill Mulder and his wife Dorothy, all of Sedro-Woolley; five grandchildren, Corey, Kristy, Jennifer, Rebecca and Amanda; 11 great grandchildren; and her sister, Ali Holsapple of Holland.

Private Family Graveside Services will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park in Mount Vernon. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service was held Feb. 3 at the First Christian Reformed Church in Mount Vernon with Pastor John Knoester officiating.
