Jeanette Alexander passed away peacefully March 8, 2011, at home, surrounded by family. She was born April 11, 1934, in Richmond, Va. Jeanette met Babe Alexander in Quantico, Vir., where he was stationed in the Marine Corps. They later married in Oak Harbor.

Jeanette worked for the Navy Exchange for 20 years. She loved to garden and later enjoyed going to casinos.

Jeanette and Babe had five children: Dy DeWitt of Tacoma, Debra Edwards (Jesse) of Clinton, Shelley Brown of Coupeville, Bonnie Pearce (Jess) of Shelton and Scott Alexander (Linda) of Freeland. In addition to her husband, Jeanette also leaves 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery. Arrangements are with the assistance of Whidbey Memorial.
