Ina K. Thiel

Ina K. Thiel, also known as Mary Ina Thiel, was born to Lucien Cleo and Mary Ethel (Smith) King on Oct. 5, 1920 in Imboden, Ark. She entered into rest with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Sept. 2, 2007, with her loving daughter Karen Bowers at her side in Oak Harbor. Ina recently relocated to Oak Harbor from Arkansas to be near her family.

She entered into marriage on Nov. 26, 1946 to William A. Thiel, Jr., who predeceased her on July 10, 2006. They had been married for close to 60 years. They were blessed with two children, a son Karl Thiel of Fayetteville, Ark., who predeceased her on Nov. 15, 2006 (Karl’s wife Brenda survives him), and a daughter, Karen Bowers and her husband Dan of Coupeville. Also surviving are a sister, Jean Kingston of Jonesboro, Ark., and a granddaughter, Rachel Bowers. She was also predeceased by her brother Willard King in April of 2003 in Antioch, Calif. Ina was a lifetime member of the Baptist Church (SBC). In later years she worked as a teacher’s aide in the Oak Grove School District in Paragould, Ark. She was a dedicated homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Graveside service for Ina will be held at a later date.

In lieu of floral tributes, memorials in Ina’s name may be sent to the First Baptist Church (SBC), P.O. Box 816, Paragould, AR, 72451. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Affordable Burial & Cremation Services, LLC of Mount Vernon. Cards of condolence may be sent to the family in care of the funeral home.
