Hazel M. Hartmann

Hazel M. Hartmann, 92, of Oak Harbor, passed away Oct. 25, 2010. Hazel was born on March 1, 1918 in Garland, Utah. She married Lorenzo W. Anderson, Jr. in 1939 and they had five children. In addition to caring for her family, Hazel enjoyed travel, bridge, gardening, literature and art.

She spent much of her adult life in California and worked as a registered nurse and as a hospital volunteer. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church capacities. Widowed in 1974, she latter married Hudson T. Hartmann, who preceded her in death in 1994.

She is survived by three sisters, Margaret Ruth White, Marilyn Hollon and Carilyn Stenquist; five children, Carol (Robert) Norman, Janet (Richard) Norman, Cathleen (Reed) Hopper, William (Megan) Anderson and Richard (Cynthia) Anderson; four stepchildren, Carol (Mike) Robinson, Donald Hartmann, Marilynn Hartmann and Lawrence Hartmann; 25 grandchildren; and 51 great grandchildren.

The funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 201 NE O’Leary Street, Oak Harbor.
