Tina Fortune, 65, went to be with her Lord Aug. 27, 2010, with family at her side. She fought a long battle with cancer, but now is at rest. She was born Dec. 2, 1944, in Franklin, N.C., to Clifford and Lula Belle Holland.

In September 1973 Tina married Joseph “Sonny” Fortune, combining families to raise their six children.

Along with her husband of 37 years, Tina leaves her six children: Patricia, Crystal, Pamela, Penny, Robert and Sonya; her 10 grandchildren, Angelica, Carrissa, Kyle, Samantha, Charlene, Chelsea, Joshua, Shamara, Mia and Nicole; and great grandchildren, Haidyn, Toni, Hailey and Antoinette. She also leaves nieces, nephews, son-in-laws, along with Mitzie Micallef, her dearest and closest friend for 39 years who was like a sister to her, and many others in her extended family.

Visitation for Tina will be held at Burley Funeral Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel where friends and family may go online at www.burleyfuneralchapel.com to sign a guest register and leave memories for the family.
