Dorothy Winifred Oldenburg

Dorothy W. Oldenburg was born to William Lafayette and Ora (Robeson) Morris April 9, 1916, in St. John, Wash. She entered into rest on Jan. 28, 2010, with her loving daughter Nancy at her bedside. She entered into marriage with Irvin Shannon in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1966. In 1977 she entered into marriage with Herman Oldenburg who preceded her in death in 2002. Dorothy was a certified teacher for a number of years in the Leavenworth public school system, teaching primary education. She is survived by her son Brian Shannon and his wife Sharrie of Oak Harbor; daughter Nancy Shannon of Coupeville; stepsons Bill Oldenburg and his wife Joyce, Jack Oldenburg and his wife Ann both of Seattle; and Todd Oldenburg and his wife Paula of Oak Harbor. At Dorothy’s request there will be no public services. Cards of condolence may be mailed to Dorothy’s family in care of Affordable Burial and Cremation Services LLC of Mount Vernon, who have been entrusted with her arrangements.
