Deborah Winona Kemp

Deborah Winona Kemp, 54, passed away in her home in Astoria, Ore., on Aug. 13, 2010, following an extended illness. Her devoted partner, Ken Johnson, was by her side. Deborah was born Feb. 27, 1956, in Oak Harbor, the daughter of Gerri and Duane Kemp. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her laughter, her wit, her lovely singing voice and her love of guitar, dogs, boats, crafts and all things outdoors.

While employed for many years by the City of Oak Harbor Parks Department, Deb was always especially proud of her initial landscaping of Hal Ramaley Park on “Flinstone Freeway” and her work with the Oak Harbor Marina. Deborah is survived by her parents, Duane and Gerri Kemp of Oak Harbor; sisters Kimberly Mason (Stuart) and Connie Kemp, both of Oak Harbor, and sister Daryl Kemp of Redlands, Calif.; brother, Gene Kemp (Lisa), residing in the United Kingdom; nephew Jared Kemp of Titusville, Fla.; and nephew Landon Kemp of Auburn, Ala. The family will gather in private ceremony to celebrate Deborah’s life. Arrangements entrusted to Ocean View Cremation and Burial Service, Astoria, Ore.
