David Shimel, 76, passed away early on the morning of Oct. 25, 2009, with a few members of his family by his side. He was born July 12, 1933 in Martinez, Calif.

He enjoyed traveling and on one of his trips to visit family he met and married Mary Louise Hayward, his spouse for 56 years, On Nov. 24, 1953.

David enjoyed cars, motorcycles, fishing and reading; he enjoyed people. He will be missed. David is survived by five children, 15 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held for him on Oct 30.
