Betty A. Baker, 79, of St. Petersburg, Fla., passed away March 15, 2010. She was born in Coupeville.

She was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was a retired nurse from the Columbia, Mo., area. She had a love of orchids and was particularly devoted to her grandchildren, Cameron and Dylan Hoyt.

She was the first queen of the Island County Fair.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Michael. She is survived by her daughter Jodi L. Hoyt, her grandsons Cameron and Dylan Hoyt, all of Seminole; a brother, David J. Bowers; sisters Pauline Rohde, Susan Boone and Rebecca Wood, all from Washington state; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was held March 18 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Reese Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, 727-391-9954.
