Axel Nummi, 86, passed away May 6, 2012, in Mesquite, Texas. A longtime resident of Coupeville, he was born in Quincy, Mass., and lived in Pembroke, Ma., for many years. Al was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. He enjoyed his 38 year career as a civil engineer with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as time spent golfing and flying.

In retirement, he loved life on the Island. He is survived by wife Jean, daughter Lee and grandchildren Jennifer and Nate. Memorial donations may be made to the Coupeville United Methodist Church, 608 N. Main St., Coupeville, WA 98239.
