Audrey Lorraine Brozek

Audrey Lorraine Brozek died peacefully at her home in Oak Harbor on Nov. 15, 2010, at the age of 84 following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 17, 1925, in Minneapolis to Norwegian immigrant parents, Anton and Clara Maanum. She was one of seven children.

Audrey was raised on farms in Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota. She graduated from high school in Starbuck, Minn., where she was in the top 10 percent of her graduating class of 33 students. Audrey was married to Girard “Jerry” Brozek in Alexandria, Minn.

Audrey and Jerry operated a photography studio for more than 10 years before moving to Minnetonka, Minn., where Jerry worked in a commercial photo finishing lab.

Audrey became a stay-at-home mom, raising her three daughters. Later, she and Jerry purchased a Floor to Ceiling store, a franchised home improvement store in Ottawa, Ill. They sold the store after five years and retired. Following Jerry’s death, Audrey moved to Henderson, Nev., where she lived for three years, before moving to Oak Harbor in 2005. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, travel and her friends and neighbors in Oak Harbor.

Audrey is survived by two daughters, Sandra Pegg of Oak Harbor and Deborah Wagner and husband Rick of Pierston, Ind.; by two sons-in-law, Joseph Mosolino of Oak Harbor and Roger Pegg of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; by her youngest brother Vern Maanum of Glenwood, Minn; and by 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Her husband Jerry and one daughter Laurie Beth Mosolino preceded her in death.

A Celebration of Life for Audrey Brozek will be held at Wallin Funeral Home & Cremation, 1811 NE 16th Ave., Oak Harbor, on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. Cremation with family graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis, Minn., at a later date.
