Alice Spry

Alice Spry missed her husband terribly since his passing five months ago. On Nov. 11, 2010, at the age of 87 she entered the gates of Heaven with Harry waiting to wrap his loving arms around her again.

Alice was born April 26, 1923, in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas. She was the only child of Mary Elizabeth (Molter) and Jefferson Davis Jackson.

Alice met Harry while he was in the Navy. They were married on June 4, 1947, and raised one son, Fred Earl Spry. Alice enjoyed her years as an Avon representative, and a secretary for the Border Unit No. 73 American Legion in Sweet Grass, Mont. She also loved her crafts, knitting, quilting, painting, leather work, and cake decorating. Since Harry’s retirement 19 years ago, they have been residing in Oak Harbor, where they have also been loyal members of the Concordia Lutheran Church.

Alice is survived by son Fred Spry; daughter-in-law Linda Hilsinger; granddaughters Vicky (Kevin) O’Bryan, Ginnie (Gary) Sutton and Christina Spry; great-grandchildren Leslee, Tyler, Niea, Brittany (Gabe), Bodee, Kortney, and Dustin; and great-great-grandchildren Ayden, Sophia, Drayden, and Paycee.

Graveside services for Alice will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at Bow Cemetery, 15813 Bow Hill Rd., Bow, Wash. Arrangements are entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel where friends may go online at www.burleyfuneralchapel.com to sign a guest register and leave memories for the family.
