Whidbey Coffee Company has started breaking ground on a new store in Burlington.

The outlet will be a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating similar to the newly remodeled store on Pioneer Way in Oak Harbor.

Brandt Design Group in Seattle, which performed the recent remodel in Oak Harbor, won the design commission for the new Burlington store, which will be at 1960 Market Place Dr.

It will be the 13th Whidbey Coffee outlet, covering Island, Skagit and Snohomish counties.

The projected completion date is Jan. 1.

Dan Ollis, who grew up on South Whidbey, is the company’s president and offers two coffee brands under Vibe Coffee Group. The other is Victrola Coffee.
