Two Oak Harbor residents injured in auto accident

Two Oak Harbor residents in separate vehicles were injured in a traffic accident early Wednesday morning at Highway 20 and Jones Road north of the city.

Two Oak Harbor residents in separate vehicles were injured in a traffic accident early Wednesday morning at Highway 20 and Jones Road north of the city.

The collision occurred at 1:04 a.m., according to the report submitted by Washington State Trooper Lancaster.

Cami Thronson, 27, was northbound on Highway 20 driving a 2002 Kia Spectra. Meanwhile, a 2004 Ford Taurus driven by Anthony Kline, 25, was stopped waiting to make a left turn into a private driveway. Thronson’s vehicle failed to stop and struck Kline’s vehicle in the rear.

Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Whidbey General Hospital. Alcohol was not involved and both drivers were wearing their seat belts, according to the report.

Both vehicles were listed as totaled. Thronson was cited for negligent driving in the second degree.
