Thursday is a special day for us. My husband and I look forward to attending the concerts at City Beach by the All Island Community Band led by George Konopik and Ken Mitchell. This group is comprised by multi-age musicians from 13 to 70-something; in fact, our granddaughter, 14, joined the band last year and is enjoying the group very much.

The hour of toe tapping and clapping to the various marches, and reminiscing to some “oldies” in the beautiful setting of City Beach is truly awesome. We come home each time with renewed enthusiasm and patriotism.

So our heart-felt gratitude to these wonderful, talented musicians who bring joy to the community! Thank you so much.

This wonderful Thursday evening event during the summer months is open to everyone at the City Beach gazebo, so bring your folding chairs and blankets and enjoy it.
