Ethan Tack continued his dominance for the North Whidbey Aquatic Club as he won eight individual events and set three records at the Bellingham Challenge at Arne Hanna Swim Center Oct. 16 and 17.
Tack, boys 9-10 division, broke a 14-year-old record in the 50 breast (38.61) and shattered the old 100 back record by 2 seconds (1:12.79).
Olivia Tungate (girls 9-10) and Marissa Morris (girls 11-12) also won all eight of their events.
Other event winners included Jarik Bainco, Ridgely Briddell, Ciara Hu, Emily Huffer, Kelly Huffer, Price Hu, Michael Johnson, Mary Catherine Middleton, Kenneth Morrow, Laura Rosen, Akasha Trisler and Molly Vagt.
NWAC received 100 percent individual PR’s from Taliah Black, Frances Empinado, Joe Gorman, Angela Johnson, Michael Johnson, Maya Krantz, Clayton Livermore, Robynn Maciel, Kenny Morrow, Jacob Thompson and Nicole Vogt.
Those who swam 100 percent relay PR’s were Bainco, Black, Briddell, Frances Empinado, Mariel Empinado, Gorman, Alyssa Hickinbotham, Joey Jepsen, Josh Jepsen, Angela Johnson, Michael Johnson, Jeron Kosbar, Krantz, Maciel, Middleton, Jillian Pape, Autumn Robinson, Rosen, Erica Sugatan, Maira Sulin, Ethan Tack, Lucas Tack, Jacob Thompson, Akasha Trisler, Brett Vagt, Molly Vagt, Brannigan Vogt, Cole Weinstein and Toren Wood.
PNS silver cuts were achieved by Frances Empinado, Gorman, Hickinbotham, Krantz, Caleb Thompson and Micah Thompson.
PNS gold cuts were earned by Kosbar, Middleton, Julia Krishtal, Pape, Harrison Tack, Lucas Tack, Jacob Thompson, Brett Vagt and Lauren Vagt.
PNS championship cuts were recorded by Black, Emily Huffer, Kelly Huffer, Michael Johnson, Molly Vagt, Cullen Wood and Toren Wood.
Emily Huffer also met an age-group sectional cut.
Relay team records came from the 10&U girls 200 medley (2:23.90) team of Middleton, Black, Pape and Olivia Tungate.
Swimmer of the Meet honors went to Maya Krantz for 100 percent individual and relay PR’s, seven silver cuts, four seconds off per 50 and a big relay swim (dropping five seconds in 50 fly).
The Aquajets next compete at the Nov. 6 and 7 Cascade Invitational in Seattle, where it will field a team of 39 athletes.
The North Whidbey Aquatic Club is a competitive swimming program of the North Whidbey Park and Recreation District. It includes swimmers of all abilities and ages from 6 through college.
Tryouts occur Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at the city pool from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. New swimmers should be able to swim a length of the pool in freestyle and backstroke. The first two weeks are free.
