Congregations unite in worship

The congregations of three Oak Harbor churches, the Christian Reformed, First Reformed and Grace Evangelical, will unite in worship on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, at 10 a.m. The combined service will include a Celebration of Communion. The host church is the Christian Reformed, located at 1411 Wieldraayer Road. Call the church office at 675-2881 for more information.

Churches give thanks together

Whidbey Presbyterian and Oak Harbor Lutheran congregations will hold a Thanksgiving worship service on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. at Oak Harbor Lutheran Church.

Rev. David Templin will preach and Rev. Marcus Stroud will preside for Holy Communion. Special music will be provided by a joint choir from the two congregations as well as a wind ensemble and the Harbor Bells handbell choir. Celebrating life’s gifts

On Sunday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m., Rev. Kit Ketcham will celebrate the abundance of life’s gifts. All are welcome. Children’s religious exploration classes and childcare will be provided.

Hanukkah set in Freeland

This annual event features dreidel playing, candle lighting, and latke making in addition to a community potluck.

Please bring a dish to share and your own beverages; also a Hanukkah and candles if you like. Also, place settings and utensils to reduce our clean-up. All are welcome.

All welcome to ‘A Winter Concert’

The community is cordially invited to the fifth annual Advent/Winter Concert at First Reformed Church, 250 SW Third Ave., Oak Harbor, on Monday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. Everyone who enjoys favorite Christmas carols will find it enjoyable. Hosting the event will be Gail Wieldraayer, solo handbell ringer, pianist and organist. She will be joined by others sharing their musical talents. Be ready to sing along. The concert is free of charge.
