Red Cross certifies sitters

The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Course provides adolescents ages 11 to 15, with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians. This training helps participants develop skills in leadership professionalism; basic care; safety, safe play; and first aid.

Parents and guardians have the confidence knowing the Red Cross babysitter that has successfully completed our program is well educated in first aid, knowing when to call for emergency assistance, identifying hazards, preventing injuries, making responsible decisions, age appropriate play, performing routines such as diapering, feeding, dressing and bedtimes.

The chapter has 36 eager graduates on their community phone list. For more information, list of babysitters or information on upcoming babysitting courses please call the chapter at 257-2096 or 1-(888) 216-5727 or go to at www.islandredcross.org.
