Oak Harbor woman injured in rollover accident

An 18-year-Oak Harbor woman suffered a serious injury in a rollover accident on North Whidbey Saturday morning. Kylee Hancock-O'Brien was traveling south on Monkey Hill Road in a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer and drifted off the road, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Kylee Hancock-O’Brien was traveling south on Monkey Hill Road in a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer and drifted off the road, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Hancock-O’Brien overcorrected and the SUV left the roadway, rolled once and struck a power pole.

The accident was reported at 8:37 a.m.

Hancock-O’Brien was transported to Island Hospital with serious injuries.

The State Patrol reported that inattention was the cause of the accident; drugs and alcohol use was not a factor.
