Peter is the grandson of Oak Harbor resident Leif Andreas Pedersen, and the late Betty Grace (Senecal) Pedersen and graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 2007. He completed four years of active duty in 2012 as a U.S. Navy Corpsman – Combat Medic with a Boat Platoon, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines home based in Twentynine Palms, Calif. Following the end of active service, he resided with grandparents, Alex Sr. and Marie Grosso, Bayville, N.J., while attending Ocean County College, where he met his fiancé in his college English course.

The future bride graduated from Central Regional High School, Bayville, in the spring of 2011.

In June 2013, the couple relocated to the Seattle area, where he is enrolled in the Everett Community College Fire Science program with a view toward a career as a fire fighter/paramedic-emergency medical technician, and she is employed at Evergreen Veterinary Hospital as a receptionist/veterinary assistant.

An intimate wedding with immediate family is planned for late summer 2015, in Freeland, Wash., with informal receptions being planned for later in the year for West and East coast extended family and friends.
