Messages from home

This is a new feature offered by the Whidbey News-Times. “Messages from Home” for our troops involved in Operation Iraqi Freedom can be submitted to the paper to be printed and posted on our Web site at cmg-northwest2.go-vip.net/whidbeynewstimes. Many in the military visit our Web site frequently to get news from home. Now, messages from home will be the first item on the site.

To: AM2 Paul Shank

Son,

Now that you have children of your own, you must know and feel that special bond of love that ties you to them in your heart. So any chance I get to let you know how much you are missed and loved, I will take the opportunity to do so. I know it must be very hard to be away from your family for so long — so keep in mind, everyone here appreciates you and all the troops out there who are fighting for their country.

On the lighter side . . . keep up the good work and I will keep the cookies coming ! I’m sooooo proud of you and the “Lancers.”

Love, your mom, Helen Shank, “one heck of a proud mom.”
