Knue will get it done

We have an opportunity to elect a homegrown success story to represent us in the Legislature. Tim Knue grew up here in Oak Harbor. Many know his mom who was a teacher here. After graduating from Oak Harbor High School he got his first degree at WSU in ‘76 to be followed by a master’s degree at Lesley College in Cambridge, Mass.

Tim returned to teach at high schools in Sumner, Mukilteo and Mount Vernon. He taught agriculture in Mount Vernon since 1981. In 2001 he was Teacher of the Year for the Washington State Career & Technical Educators Association. The very next year he was Teacher of the Year of the 15 western states for the National Association of Career and Technical Educators. Just three months ago he was honored at Cornell University for being the teacher who had the greatest influence for a student graduating in the top 10 of their class at Cornell U.

Tim is a quiet, low key guy with a keen ability to cut through nonsense to get things done. For those of us who want to see education, agriculture, as well as quality of life improved and preserved, now is our chance to have him as our Representative.
