The following calls were made to the Island County Sheriff's Office.

Thursday, June 30

At 5:32 a.m., a Paradise Place resident reported a car was parked on the street of the Paradise Place cul de sac, despite the fact its owners live on Haven Way.

At 8:59 a.m., a State Highway 20 resident reported that her husband had left for the ferry at 9 a.m. yesterday to head to Newport but had not arrived. She told dispatchers that she also contacted surrounding counties and the Washington State Patrol but had yet to hear any report back about her husband.

At 9:20 a.m., a caller on Taylor Road reported receiving threats from “gang members” in Tacoma. The caller said she has custody of a child the gang members want to retrieve. The gang members had stated they were coming to the area to retrieve the child by whatever means necessary.

At 3:04 p.m., a Sleeper Road resident called to discuss some abandoned bunnies. She said she had been referred to the sheriff’s department by animal control.

At 8:52 p.m., a caller on Industrial Avenue advised there is a subject at the location who is “strung out on drugs or something.” The caller said the subject was pushing people around and acting up.

Friday, July 1

At 3:05 a.m., a caller on Martha Way requested a welfare check. He advised that two young children came up his driveway saying they needed medical attention, something to do with a liver. They left about five minutes before the call and said they were going to the beach.

At 9:34 a.m., a caller on Fakkema Road reported a large brown cow in the road.

At 9:44 a.m., a caller on Resort Road reported a 30-year dispute with their neighbor over driveway access, saying they suspect there will be another argument today, as the caller was having a garage sale. Their neighbor had already removed the signs.

At 10:19 a.m., a caller on Monroe Landing reported a loose bull running around the neighborhood. Its owners were not at home.

At 11:53 a.m., a Green Valley Road resident reported receiving IRS scam calls.

At 5:32 p.m., a caller on Southwest Heller Street reported receiving a text message from their sister saying she will send her “friend” after the caller, and that this friend is “Brandon” who carries an A.45 on his hip.

At 7:15 p.m., a Highway 20 resident reported a suspected burglary at his neighbors’ home. The neighbors were gone for several months, and the back entrance was busted in and a bucket left beneath the bathroom window.

At 11:31 p.m., a caller on Harrington Lagoon Road reported hearing loud fireworks coming from across the street. The caller said the noise was waking up their children. A second caller reported the same noise in the same location at 11:54 p.m.
