Detectives with the Island County Sheriff’s Office are trying to identify the owners of a bunch of unclaimed electronics and other items seized from suspected boat burglars.

Detective Ed Wallace advised people who own boats moored on North Whidbey, especially Cornet Bay Marina or Mariners Cove, should check them to see if anything is missing. Anyone who believes anything is missing from their vessel should call the ICOM dispatch center at 679-9567.

The investigators arrested two Oak Harbor men and a 17-year-old boy earlier this month on suspicion of vehicle prowling. They are suspects in boat break-ins at Mariners Cove just before Christmas, boat break-ins at Cornet Bay Marina Jan. 13 and up to 30 car prowls in Oak Harbor, according to the Island County Sheriff’s Office.

One of the suspects was allegedly selling the stolen electronics on eBay. The detectives seized a number of boat-related electronic gadgets from the men’s apartment in Oak Harbor, the sheriff’s office reported.
