Island County Board seeking applications for two commissions

The Island County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to serve on the county’s planning commission and its Ebey’s Landing preservation commission.

The Island County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to serve on the county’s planning commission and its Ebey’s Landing preservation commission.

It is seeking one volunteer each from District 2 (Oak Harbor) and District 3 (North Whidbey/Camano) to serve on the planning commission. Members must reside in the district they are appointed to represent. The term lasts four years. The planning commission generally meets the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Preparation and research is necessary.

The board is also seeking applicants to serve on the Ebey’s Landing Historic Preservation Commission for a term that expires on Dec. 19, 2018.

Applicants should have demonstrated interest, experience or knowledge in history, historic preservation, architecture, design, landscape architecture, cultural landscapes or related disciplines.
