Greenbank Farm Events Coordinator Kristi O’Donnell is continuing to work with the Coupeville Chamber of Commerce to turn the farm into a satellite location for providing tourism information.

The idea is to have visitor information and volunteers helping people, O’Donnell said during a recent Port of Coupeville meeting.

O’Donnell said she is looking at applying for 2 percent tourism funds, with the help of the chamber,  to build a barn-like structure at the farm that can be manned by volunteers or serve as an info kiosk un-manned.

A tourism grant could also help fund staffing and volunteer training, she said.

Commissioner William Bell said he’d like to see a walking tour brochure made for the farm that highlights areas of the farm like the pea pod and birding area.

“Things that will keep people there for an hour versus 20 minutes,” he said.
