Central Whidbey residents will be able to learn about the candidates running for the Port of Coupeville.

The Greenbank Farm is hosting a candidate forum from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14. It will follow a format designed by the League of Women Voters.

There are two seats on the three-member board that are being contested in the November election.

Jim Patton, who finishes his tenure as the port’s executive director in December, is running to fill the seat being vacated by Benye Weber. He is running against Bill Larsen.

Recently appointed commissioner Mike Diamanti is running against Richard Bowen to fill the remainder of Laura Blankenship’s term. She resigned earlier in 2013.

The taxpayer supported port district also owns the Greenbank Farm.

Also on the ballot is a measure shrinking commissioner terms for the Port of Coupeville from six years to four years.
