Twenty years ago I wrote a letter to the Whidbey News-Times in support of Rick Schulte for school superintendent.

Having attended the Oak Harbor schools from first grade through high school, and receiving graduate degrees from Whitworth University, I have known and worked with Dr. Schulte these past 20 years.

I also came to know and work with assistant Superintendent Lance Gibbons, whom I now recommend to fill the superintendent position.

Dr. Gibbons, is highly qualified, understands the local school system and the community, and is a perfect match for the job.
