Ducken earns Eagle Scout

Ryan J. Ducken of Oak Harbor received the rank of Eagle Scout at a court of honor on Dec. 28 at Oak Harbor Lutheran Church. Boy Scouts of America, Troop 98, Mount Baker Council conferred the rank on Ducken. Eagle Scout is the hightest rank in Boy Scouts and all requirements must be met before a Scout’s 18th birthday. Obtaining Eagle Scout usually takes five years.

Ducken’s parents are Donna and Richard Newton and Jim and Becky Ducken. The new Eagle Scout thanks all the many friends, family and businesses that contributed to his goal of earning Eagle Scout.
