I read with great concern your opinions, as expressed on your editorials page Feb. 6, in which you support a levy increase that has been presented by North Whidbey Fire and Rescue. You talked about a major expansion of the Heller Road Fire Station.

Wasn’t there a major expansion of Coupeville’s fire station in 2005? To this day, it is not staffed 24-7. This may be a different fire district, but the questions remains: “If the station in Coupeville is not being utilized, is it economically sensible to expand Heller Road fire station?
