A benefit concert to finance heater and cistern systems for the new Coupeville Community Greenhouse will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Coupeville Middle School Performing Arts Center.
Scheduled to perform are the Saratoga Chamber Players, a 12-member string orchestra featuring Coupeville students Buell Neidlinger on cello and bassist Margaret Storer. Following will be a slide presentation by Terry Welch’s students, ages 10-14, who traveled to Peru to study the Amazon rain forest and indigenous cultures last summer.
The new Coupeville Community Greenhouse, located behind Coupeville Middle School, is a joint effort of the Coupeville Garden Club and the school district. It was an idea conceived by garden club member Roberta Piercy and Welch, an award-winning science teacher.
Tickets are $12 at the door, or $10 in advance and on-sale at the Coupeville Pharmacy, Great Times Espresso, Vidioville and the County Deli.
