Here's what's happening in the Whidbey arts scene.

GREENBANK FARM will celebrate the red, white and blues from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 2 at the farm. Marcy Johnson is featured artist at ARTWORKS GALLERY during July. A First Friday reception is 5-7:30 p.m. Friday, July 1 at the gallery. In the past few years Johnson has focused on a line of hand-woven scarves and rag rugs; but she also created a line of hand-pounded, ethnic-inspired jewelry. The multi-media artwork of Mary Goolsby will be featured in the foyer ART GALLERY AT UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CONGREGATION OF WHIDBEY ISLAND during the months of July and August. The GARRY OAK GALLERY will be celebrating July 4th and Race Week by featuring nautical-themed artworks throughout the month of July. The gallery is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (6:30pm Friday and Saturday) and is located at 830 SE Pioneer Way, Oak Harbor. www.GarryOakGallery.com

The WHIDBEY ART GALLERY featured artists for July are Dale Reiger and Molly Heuffed. Reiger is a painter and kiln-formed glass artist. Heuffed loves to carve clay (sgraffitto) making each ceramic piece unique. Barbara Mearing, featured gallery member, does pastel and acrylics paintings of subjects that celebrate the simple pleasures of everyday life. www.WhidbeyArtists.com

Richard Nash is PENN COVE GALLERY’s featured artist for July. Nash will attend the gallery from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. July 6 and 7 to discuss the methods and motivations behind his works. Nash finds inspiration for his abstracts in the play of light and shadows from and on architectural forms in relationship to natural forms. www.rjnashart.com

The works of Sharon Spencer and Keiichi Nishimura will be featured at ROB SCHOUTEN GALLERY during the month of July. Nishimura is known for his graceful, one-of-a-kind paintings on silk, while Spencer is known for her evocative sculptures. A reception to welcome both artists will take place during First Friday at Greenbank Farm from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 1.
