Fantasy Fights ready to smack down for a laugh in Oak Harbor

Wrestling-comedy mash-up at the Roller Barn Aug. 26

Prepare to cheer, prepare to laugh, and most importantly, prepare to be entertained when Whidbey’s own Shawn Cain brings his entertaining mash-up of professional wrestling and comedy to the ring this August.

Cain’s brand new session of Fantasy Fights smacks down Saturday, Aug. 26 at the Roller Barn in Oak Harbor, and while it’s all in good fun, wrestling fans will also enjoy some premier bouts, Cain notes.

“We’re using pro wrestlers because I want the fights to be great,” Cain says, but adds it’s really about having a good time – for both the wrestlers and the audience.

“I want to bring people together, and I want people to laugh,” says the long-time stand-up comedian. After the last few years, “I think a lot of people just want to do something fun and do something original.”

Dubbed “the SNL of Fighting,” this round of Fantasy Fights welcomes the First Lady of Pro Wrestling, Missy Hyatt, who fans will also know from Vice’s Dark Side of the Ring. In Fantasy Flights, Hyatt will play another First Lady in ‘Hillary vs. Monica: The Brawl for the Dress.’

While some of the characters come from politics, don’t expect a political show, Cain emphasizes.

“If you like slapstick, if you like good entertainment, if you like to laugh and not worry about offending, this is the place,” he says.

Who else will you see? None other than the Russian Python (a.k.a. Vladimir Putin’s son) vs. Bill Fry Army Vet, Melania Trump vs. Stormy Daniels and – in the appropriately named ‘I need a Job Match’ – former CNN host Don Lemon vs. former FOX host Tucker Carlson.

Not-to-be-missed match-ups also include Hunter Biden vs. Don Trump Jr, in the ‘Laptop on a Pole’ match, plus the ‘Need for Speed’ match with the Luchadores.

Featuring top fighters from the world of WWE, World Championship Wrestling and mixed martial arts, competing athletes include Hyatt, Cindy Snow, Ally (Bishop) Stevens, Roni Johnah, Mindy Easton, Lance Dean, John Ballard, Christopher Raney, Dash Venture and many more.

And hosting the event is T.C. Morgan, host of Wiseguys Roasted with TC in Las Vegas,” so you can expect shenanigans from the beginning,” Cain promises.

A second show is planned for December, with a more ‘family friendly’ lineup.

General admission tickets are $30, and are available on Eventbrite. The show kicks off at 7 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Roller Barn, 98 NE Barron Dr., Oak Harbor, WA.
