Santa Claus brings joy to children with special needs

Island County Parent to Parent hosted its 8th annual Holiday Family Fun with Santa in Coupeville.

Island County Parent to Parent hosted its 8th annual Holiday Family Fun with Santa, an event that is special needs-friendly and open to family members. Tiffany Wheeler Thompson, who coordinated the event, said that Santas are often not prepared to interact with special need children and malls can be overstimulating. Inside the Coupeville Recreation Hall, families met a Santa who has experience being around special needs children and had fun crafting.
