Singer and songwriter David Roth, having performed at the inaugural fundraiser for Small Miracles, is returning to entertain again. Nearly six years later, Roth will be performing in the Coupeville Recreation Hall at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 18.

This is Roth’s fourth performance in Coupeville, having performed twice before at Concerts on the Cove.

Roth grew up in Chicago and one of his first claims to fame was singing the National Anthem in the Michael Jordan era for the Chicago Bulls’ basketball games. He has a fan base of many well-known performers including Peter Yarrow and Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary; Tom Chapin and Tom Paxton.

Roth was the perfect person for Small Miracles’ kickoff. Members said he moved them, touched their hearts and inspired their humanity. After he returned home to Massachusetts, he donated half of his fee back to the fledgling medical support group Small Miracles.

Each year Small Miracles receives more and more calls for assistance and pays out larger amounts in medical assistance for neighbors in the community. This year, with cuts to state-funded Medicaid pending, the group expects to receive even more requests.

Small Miracles looks forward to another year of assisting cash-strapped neighbors obtain the medical care they require. Tickets for the Rec Hall concert can be purchased ahead of time from in Coupeville from Bayleaf, Local Grown, Sally’s Garden and Tea & Treasure for $15. Tickets will also be available at the door, and no one will be turned away. For more information call 360-678-5019. If you are in need of medical support financially, call  360-672-5651.
