Track: Wildcat boys, girls capture 3-team meet

The boys tied Cascade with 63 points and Monroe followed with 51.

The Wildcat girls won easily with 94.5 points over Cascade, 49, and Monroe, 39.5.

Josiah Miller was a triple winner for the boys (100, 11.36; 200, 22.86; triple jump, 41-07) and placed second in the 4×400 relay (3:38.49) with Carlton Johnson, Noel Cheeseboro and Aaron Boesch.

Oak Harbor earned other firsts from Matt Reith (3,200, 10:28.21), Boesch (long jump, 19-05), Jeremy Foster (shot put, 43-11), Josh McVey (tie, pole vault, 10) and the 4×100 relay team (Cody Hernkind, Johnson, Sheyenne Sams, Justin Everett, 46.62).

Dominique Jackson was a double winner for the Oak Harbor girls, taking the shot put (31-04) and discus (103-04.5).

Christina Alexander (100, 13.66), Allison Duvenez (300 hurdles, 47.72), Christina Wicker (1,600, 5:33) and Maura McKole (400, 1:03.97) each won individual events and then teamed up to win the 4×400 relay (4:23.26).

The Wildcats also received wins from Janessa Ramos (long jump, 15-09.75) and Katelyn Bristow (triple jump, 31-04).

In other track news, Duvenez was named both the Washington  Interscholastic Activities Association/Seattle Times 3A and the Everett Herald Athlete of the Week for earning two firsts and helping the Oak Harbor girls win the 26-team Solberg Invitational in Bellingham April 9.
