Everybody has a story. How do you turn yours into words?

Join Molly Larson Cook for an afternoon of engaging exercises to help you recall, capture and preserve the important pieces of your life.

Cook’s “Writing the Memoir” workshop will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, June 8 at the Coupeville Library, located at 788 NW Alexander St. in Coupeville.

Space is limited so register in advance.

Exercises will also offer options for arranging those pieces into a meaningful, readable and entertaining narrative for friends and family or for a book.

“This workshop will also benefit fiction writers and poets. The best writing in any genre begins with personal experience at the core,” Cook said in a press release.

Beginning writers are welcome.

Writers should bring a few family photos and pen and paper; no laptops.

The cost is $60.

The workshop is sponsored by the Whidbey Island Arts Council with Skylark Writing Studio.
