Others in the cast are Meiko Parton as Vanelli, a policeman, Charlie Moore as Sam Hoke, the deli owner, Alan Bailey as Curtis Appleby, the nosy neighbor, and Ed Bennett as Lt. Walker, the police captain.

This gripping thriller begins when troubled Elaine Wheeler tells her husband and the police that she has seen a dead man in the building across the way. The police are skeptical. Is Elaine imagining things, or is there a murdered man?

As the plot thickens and Elaine’s agitation increases, can she prove she is not crazy? The suspense builds throughout the play and holds the audience until the chilling climax. Fletcher’s popular “Night Watch” was made into a movie in 1973 starring Elizabeth Taylor.

“Night Watch” opens Friday, April 3, at the Whidbey Playhouse, 730 SE Midway Blvd in Oak Harbor and closes April 26. Tickets go on sale March 3. Call the box office at 679-2237, email office@whidbeyplayhouse.com, or visit www.whidbeyplayhouse.com.
