Trump saga will impact everyone

Editor,

Jan. 20, 2017, is another date which will live in infamy.

Donald J. Trump’s inauguration speech was a study in hypocrisy, gall and belief in the utter gullibility of the American people.

Take these remarks: “We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries, making our products, stealing our companies and destroying our jobs….We will follow two simple rules, hire American and buy American.”

This from the man who built Trump Tower using undocumented labor and has made a fortune selling products manufactured in China, the Netherlands, Mexico, India, Turkey, Slovenia, Honduras, Germany, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam and South Korea.

“The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed all across the world,” he said. Redistributed, for instance, into the Cayman Islands bank accounts of the billionaires and bankers he has chosen for his cabinet?

“The time for empty talk is over,” he said. “Now arrives the hour of action.” Within 12 hours of that promise, he took action to suspend Obama’s reduction of FHA annual mortgage insurance premium rates that would have saved new homeowners up to $500 a year on their mortgages.

This doesn’t affect you? Be patient. Your hour will come.
