Island County Activists for Single Payer (ICASP) is a volunteer group of health care professionals and other concerned citizens who advocate a single-payer, universal health care system for all Americans.
Soaring health care costs are both a result and cause of our economic crisis; national economic recovery depends in large part on major reform of our current health care system. Single-payer, federally-funded, privately-delivered, non-for-profit, universal coverage is the best solution to our health care crisis.
The single-payer solution would substantially reduce costs, promote fairness, simplify access and administration, offer more choice and control to our citizens, reduce suffering, and contribute significantly to our economic recovery.
The purpose of this grassroots effort is to mobilize the citizens of Island County to promote and pass single payer, universal health care. Persons interested in becoming more active locally in such health care reform should contact the ICASP coordinator, Marshall Goldberg, by phone at 675-5888, or by email at mfgold@comcast.net.
