Editor,
On Saturday, Jan. 9, my son and some of his Oak Harbor High School wrestling teammates decided to celebrate their team win, as well as individual accomplishments, after a successful tournament that day with dinner at Luigi’s.
The kids were excited and, being teenagers, I am sure they were not quiet. However, their day was made even more when they went to pay and were advised by the cashier that a couple sitting near them had paid for all of their meals.
To those who paid for the kids’ meals, as a parent I want to say “thank you” for sharing what I tell my son and other kids I come in contact with on a regular basis.
That is this: that there are good people in the world who walk quietly among us.
To the kids who were touched by this event, I challenge you to pay it forward someday in any way you can. Paying it forward does not have to be monetary, it can be volunteering, or lending a helping hand to someone in need.
